An RAF SeaKing dropped in to the playing field in the Village of Endmoor on Sunday 2 August. The Officer Commanding 202 Squadron, Wing Commander Sara Mackmin, flew in to meet with key personnel from various Lake District Mountain Rescue Teams in the Village Hall. Mountain Rescue Team members are required to undertake training with the RAF in the form of a detailed safety briefing and winching from the aircraft to ensure that joint rescue operations go smoothly. This visit provided such an opportunity for the newer members of the Teams.
