You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the charity.
You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to cover the amount that all charities and CASCs that you donate to will reclaim for that tax year. Council tax and VAT do not count. You understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you have given.
If in future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains tax equal to the tax that all charities and CASCs reclaim, you must cancel your declaration (see note 1).
If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
