Training is required by all hill-going team members to maintain a level of fitness and preparedness. We may have to test new equipment or to practise regular rescue techniques. Exercises are held twice monthly, maybe at night, and of course go ahead irrespective of the weather.
First Aid training is a regular feature, both at the team’s base and on the fell. Many team members hold the Mountain Rescue (England & Wales) Casualty Care Certificate which equips them to deal with diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury effectively.
