April Training – The Helm

Today we went up to Benson Knott where the team split into 3 groups and had to assess and treat casualties whom had sustained either big bone leg injuries (Femur) or lower leg to ankle injuries. We also practised with the use of the Kendrick’s splint with one poor casualty having a double femur fracture.

Team search dogs Fern and Skye decided that we were short of practise and Fern demonstrated her method of mouth to mouth.

We also went through the procedures for handing a casualty over to the Ambulance service. Meanwhile Eric, our new mobile 2 was getting to know Vincent and Dorothy, mobile 1. As with all training we conduct a debrief at the end.
