Rescue Round is Back!

Rescue Round is Back!

Rescue Round is Back, only bigger and badder. Team Leader Dave and Deputy Team Leader Kath with the support of all at Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team are attempting the ultra Bimble, Bike & Boat trip. In 2012 they managed to navigate the teams boundary in 24hrs, this year its slightly more challenging…

Starting at the opening ceremony of Kendal Mountain Festival on the evening of Thursday 16th November 2017 Kath and Dave will be riding, running and paddling to visit all our fellow Lake District Search and Mountain Rescue Association friends; Kirkby Stephen, Penrith, Patterdale, Keswick, Cockermouth, Wasdale, Duddon and Furness, Coniston and Langdale and Ambleside Mountain Rescue Teams! They’ll cover in excess of 290 kilometres and nearly 6000 metres of ascent, see 15 hours of darkness each night they’re out and brave whatever the November weather can throw at them. They’re going to need all the support they can get from their team mates and volunteer friends from across the Lake District to make it back to KMF base camp before the end of the festival.

Please, please come and give us a massive send off from the Mountainfest opening ceremony in Kendal town centre, follow our progress which will be GPS tracked by Open Tracking at KMF basecamp… And most importantly please donate. We’re raising money for the Westmorland Gazette supported campaign to fund a replacement control vehicle for Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team. Please give what you can to help us keep our team rescue ready 24/7/365.

Thank-you!
