No Callouts, But Still Keeping Busy!

The Lake District teams are glad to report that with a majority of people following the stay at home message we have been very quiet on the callout front. This does not mean that team members have been quiet. We have a significant number of team members fulfilling their roles as frontline NHS staff, including GP’s, Paramedics & Pharmacists . We have members involved in essential services, such as school teachers & tanker drivers. So a big thank you to them.

We, as a team, must also ensure that our equipment is ready to go at a moments notice. This has meant our medical group making sure we have adequate PPE and sanitising equipment to keep us and any potential casualty safe. The equipment group continuing with essential kit checks albeit with only two members carrying out the task to adhere to the correct distancing policies. The vehicle group working on a rota system to maintain and give the vehicles a run out.

The team also managed to have a virtual quiz on Sunday (although we do believe a bit of google research was done by the winning team! We will be training from home this Wed with pre recorded videos made by the training and medical groups plus a virtual question time.

This has been and continues to be a challenging time for everyone. We as a team are missing the outdoor adventures as much as everyone else, but Please, Stay Safe, Stay Home and Keep well
