With the easing of certain lock down measures across the UK, and recognising the need for people to return to the outdoors and improve both their physical and mental wellbeing, we at Kendal MRT are supporting our fellow teams with the new message of “If you need to go out on the fells, then remain within your capabilities and take the necessary precautions”.
The adventure smart website provides invaluable advice on all aspects of having a great day out. Topics include checking the weather, what gear to wear, knowing not only your own ability but that of someone who may be joining you and what to do if help is needed.
As a team we would like to thank all those who continue to support us. During the past 3 months we have had a few callouts. Responding to requests from Cumbria Police and North West Ambulance Service involving incidents that have involved pure misfortune rather than people ignoring the guidelines. We still do this with a smile on our face as we know, accidents do happen, people do not go out with the intention of having a bad day.
